Dharohar'17



DHAROHAR'17- The Annual National Cultural and Literary Festival of GBPUAT, Pantnagar was organized on a huge scale with resplendence by SPIC MACAY, Pantnagar Chapter from 25th to 27th March'2017.The fest included competitions in the fields of music, dance, dramatics, debating and other promethean events, leaving a perpetual impact on the spectators.


The enthralling event 'Ahwaal' - The Dramatics Competition embarked the fest, furnishing a rostrum to the talented artists.The performers well depicted the theme 'Draw a Veil Over', and kept the audience riveted with their awe-striking acts.
This was followed by one of the most awaited events of Dharohar, 'Mehfil-The Artist Evening'. The Chau Dancers of West Bengal astonished every head with their marvellous performance and earned walloping accolades. The chief guest of the evening, Dr. G.K. Singh, Dean, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, congratulated and extolled the artists.
The second day began with Vigyapti- The Social Paper Presentation, which gave an ideal platform to the participants to express their inner voice in their own efficacious way. Commendable enthusiasm was witnessed among the participants with eagerness to express their views on the existing social issues enervating the society.

Meanwhile, Antarbodh- the Debate Competition made the participants think out of the box with its innovative rounds. The participants battled with words on a dozen of topics prevailing in the society.




After that the environment was exhilarated by the participants walking down the ramp, astounding the audience with their stunning dresses at 'Parivesh'- The Ethnic Ramp Show. They pulled off the theme 'Exordium' flawlessly. Meanwhile, the participants discovered and showcased their rousing personalities through different ingenious rounds at 'Roobaroo'- The Personality Hunt. After that, the recent intriguing movie 'Lion' was shown on public demand in Gandhi Auditorium in the movie fest 'Jharokha' which rejuvenated everyone.
The third day outset with 'Vaividhya'- The Open Air Event, holding the premises with enormous talent and zeal within the participants, giving them an ideal platform to express their innovative artistic ideas. The event included Rangoli making, Mehandi, Kite flying, Puppet making and Best out of waste competitions. Meanwhile, 'Parichay'- The Quiz Competition, had participants scratching their heads with the mind- boggling questions and innovative and challenging rounds were presented to them.
After that Gandhi Auditorium echoed with melodious voices, hypnotizing the spectators at 'Raaga'-The Singing Competition. The battle of voices made every soul hymn with happiness. The day concluded with 'Jhanak'- The Dance Competition where the participants set the stage on fire with their astonishing performances. The theme 'Another Sky' was well depicted by the participants by astonishing blend of music and amazing dance which floored everyone.

With this Dharohar'17 concluded successfully and revivified every soul.
