DHAROHAR, The National Level Annual Cultural and Literary Festival of G.B.P.U.A. & T, Pantnagar celebrated its 3 days grand cultural fest of excellence which yet again proved the utter resilience and power of SPIC MACAY, Pantnagar Chapter. Dharohar '19  was held from 29th to 31st March, 2019. Like every year, the fest carved its way out to be the one of its kind celebration of culture, art, and heritage. It is a youth-centric platform where assessment is a tool that helps to identify the talent that each individual pursues.  The array of events was idiosyncratically constructed to carve out every hue of talent and joy, showcasing the true essence of culture, rhythm, and art. The partakers embodied finesse in the battle of words, brains, music, and dance. In the end, it was not all about winning as everyone graced the platform with their sheer and consummate vigor and talent.  




The national level fest made a grand beginning with 'Ahwaal' - the dramatics competition, where the participants enacted their talent and casted their intrinsic spell on the audience by the expression of their art. The theme 'Rambling Psyche' emboldened the participants to show the dynamic behavior of the mind. The acts were enthralling and competitive. The other event 'Vigyapti' - The Social Paper Presentation, where the participants expressed their views on the most burning issues of the social sphere dredging solution to tackle these social issues with their innovative deeds. The first day concluded with 'Jharokha' - The Movie Fest. The maximum voted movie 'Avengers: The Infinity War' was displayed in Ratan Singh Auditorium. The movie was full of thrill and delectation which was relished by the grand audience.






The second day embarked with 'Parivesh' - The Ethnic Ramp Show, a combination of fashion touch by fashionista, and the thought which fights against the orthodox thinking. The theme Kairos- Evolution In You that makes us to think about how to make life extraordinary. The creativity was beyond the sky where the contestants not only walked with stunning self woven dresses but with their fearless and confident personalities which won the heart of the judges by their creativity and poise. Simultaneously 'Vavidhya' - The Open Air Events were held in which the participants had to perpetuate their talents in mehandi, rangoli, best out of waste, puppet making, and kite flying. The sterling designs of mehandi and rangoli, vernal yet elegant innovations  to utilize the waste and get the best out of them and the event ended with blissful and relishing series of kite flying. After that, the most anticipated event 'Jhanak' - The Dance competition, where the stage was illuminated with efficacious performances in solo, duet and group category. The captivating dances were a mixture of grace, articulation and energy that very well justified the theme 'Tarang: to the pinnacle through difficulties, which means without hard work and perseverance you cannot reach to the crest. The day completed with an astounding performance by renowned vocalist Dr. Hitu Mishra who filled the Gandhi auditorium with her euphonious voice in which she blends the elements of "Gayaki" i.e. vocal rendering and "Tantarakari" i.e. instrumental rhythmic patterns, a manner in which not many are found playing the instrument in the entire subcontinent, her music combines the traditions of the Sarangi and Sarod. Ustad Shakeel Ahmed and his team beautifully orchestrated their fusion of variant types of folk music into the souls of the audience.



The third day embellished with 'Antarbodh' - The Debate Competition, where deliberation and debate stirred the soul of the democracy. All the teams exhibited great oratorical skills and armed with statistics and valid data and made their arguments more emphatic with right facial expressions, body movements, and gestures. 'Parichay' - The Quiz Competition revealed the concealed cognizance of an individual and the participants extended their brain efficiency to conquer. It's not just an ordinary quiz competition but a well-organized set of distinct rounds which led their knowledge to go with the command of victory.Meanwhile, the ripples of melodies and rock jazz in the entire ambience  " Junoon"- The Fusion Band War. The beat of every band sparkled and dynamized the audience. Moreover, the people's heart and soul were delighted with their pulsating voice. The blood rush was in great magnitude and hence created an amusing night. Thus, it became the most energizing and vivacious event.Recapitulating the three-day national-level annual cultural and literary fest bequeathed us with a plethora of knowledge and proficiency. Promising to run on this legacy of such victorious events will be the perennial aim of the SPIC MACAY, Pantnagar Chapter.

It is our endeavor to help disseminate the best of the Indian classical heritage with its attendant legends, rituals, mythologies and philosophies to young students and professionals.
